Discovering the Hidden Treasures of Bagan: An Adventure in Myanmar's Archaeological Wonder

Bagan is an ancient city in Myanmar that is steeped in history and cultural significance. Located on the banks of the Irrawaddy River, Bagan was once the capital of the First Myanmar Empire and was a major center of Buddhist learning and worship. Today, it is a popular destination for tourists who are drawn to its rich history and impressive array of ancient temples and pagodas.

At its peak, Bagan was home to over 10,000 Buddhist temples, pagodas, and monasteries, making it one of the largest religious complexes in the world. Today, over 2,200 of these structures still stand, and they offer a fascinating glimpse into the city's rich history and cultural heritage.

Perhaps one of the most magical experiences in Bagan is watching the sunrise over the ancient temples, a scene that is made even more breathtaking when viewed from the basket of a hot air balloon.

Hot air balloon rides over Bagan have become increasingly popular in recent years, and for good reason. The sunrise over Bagan is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience, as the golden light of the morning sun illuminates the ancient temples and casts long shadows across the rolling hills. From the basket of a hot air balloon, visitors can admire this breathtaking scenery in complete tranquility, as the only sounds are the gentle flutter of the balloon's flame and the occasional chirping of birds.

We preferred to stay on top of a pagoda to enjoy these incredible sunrise moments with all the hot air balloons. But such a great coincidence, that one of our friends was in a hot air balloon, exactly this morning...and we did not know about it, but of course, we took a photo of it :)
