Deep Dive Adventure in Jeddah‘s Red Sea

Since I was already allowed to marvel at the great colors and fish worlds of the Red Sea in Jordan, then in Aqaba, I could not refuse the offer of our local (thanks Martin for the crucial contacts) Majdi. So we went by Uber through the city to the Jeddah Corniche in the north. After a first round of snorkeling, we strapped on the tanks and went off into the depths.

As a passionate underwater filmer and photographer, Majdi took some cool snaps. He hinted if I would like to conquer the cave below on the last stretch, I felt good and said yes. What I knew only afterwards, it went to 40m in the depth, that was my deepest dive so far, for that I stood after a few moments on the sandy bottom of the bay of the Red Sea.

In the depth I breathed then somewhat much, which brought me my next first experience. My bottle emptied nevertheless clearly faster than Majdi's, and the cave was already a piece away, so that after 70min dive shortly before the surface swimming back, my empty bottle forced me to stretch out the head and to paddle back the last meters, also still with easy cramps. Pure adventure included :)
